HOW TO PACK A WHOLE SPACESHIP IN YOUR FRIDGE?
The „Coca-Cola Reshape“ interactive exhibition, inspired by the Apollo 11 mission, which first landed on the moon 52 years ago, has attracted a great deal of attention from visitors at the Belgrade Science Festival.
Everyone who visited the „Coca-Cola Reshape“ stand at the Belgrade Fair had the opportunity to experience a unique and unforgettable adventure, to explore planets and galaxies from inside the replica of the command module of the Apollo 11 spacecraft. The centerpiece of the stand was an impressive 8-meter-high launch vehicle known as the 39A. The exhibition called “Always Recycle” has given this space story an educational character when it comes to raising awareness for the preservation of our planet. Namely, after refreshing with their favorite drink, the visitors could immediately recycle their Coca-Cola can on the spot – in the capsule of Apollo 11, or at the launch station, and thus contribute to preserving the environment and raising awareness for recycling.
The festival’s visitors were particularly intrigued by the fact that the aluminum from which Coca-Cola cans are made can be recycled countless times. Each can of Coca-Cola is already made from 15-25% recycled aluminum, as are spaceships such as the Apollo 11. A special attraction at the „Coca-Cola Reshape“ were the unique Coca-Cola cans made of partially recycled aluminum. which came directly from space and were dedicated to Serbian engineers Milojko Vucelic, David Vujic, Slavoljub Vujic, Milislav Surbatovic, Danilo Bojic, Petar Gajic and Pavle Dujic. Known as the “Serbian Apollo 7”, they made an immense contribution to the success of the “Apollo 11” mission.
The purpose of setting up this exhibition is to educate people about the use of aluminum and the importance of waste recycling for our environment. The ultimate goal of the Coca-Cola Company is, by 2030, to help collect and recycle all quantities of bottles and cans we sell in the market.
