PIVARA SKOPJE, GREAT WORKPLACE FOR WOMEN

We all remember the days when the question of diversity at the workplace was a question that everyone avoided as a plague. This is a question that people feared that if addressed, will open the Pandora’s box of initiatives and policies that will disturb the business. Now, I am not saying that those days are gone, because there are lots of places in the world where issues of equality and diversity are still perceived as strange, difficult and ill-fated concept.

Pivara Skopje is definitely not one of those places. Pivara Skopje can proudly rise above the rest, and for a good reason.

As a female employee, working as a Human Resources Business Partner, I have been asked to put down in my words my honest views and experience about “Why Pivara Skopje is a good place to work for a female employee”. Allow me to describe the few reasons in regards to what my experience has been while working at Pivara Skopje.

Learning and Development. For a young prospective and career orientated woman like myself, Pivara Skopje is an excellent place to work. There is plethora of opportunities on offer, from ongoing training courses related to each individual position, to specific and tailored development programs based on the needs of every employee. I have deliberately stated an employee here, and not a female employee, as simply, when it comes to learning and development, as for all the rest described in this article, there is no concept of male or female employees needs set out in the policies of the company. Learning and development plan is simply set out by the management by identifying the needs of employees in order to fulfill their roles and open the path for further progress. I am not saying that every woman in my company has an open path to get their career goal achieved, but I would certainly claim that they all have an open path to get a clear and unobstructed chance to achieving it. This stands for talent and development management as well. Talent pool in Pivara Skopje is based only on competencies and potential of employees. And what else would anyone wish for? Fair, I would comment here. And fair is what the equality and the diversity concept stands for.

Motivation. It is not easy to get motivated at a job where you are not recognized and rewarded for you efforts. Especially having in mind the millennials whose needs of everyday motivation and recognition are so big that they influence their job performance. Pivara Skopje puts great focus on the recognition and rewarding part. Individual development plans, ensuring work-life balance, excellent working conditions are important matters of which Pivara Skopje is taking care regarding different types of employees and constantly working on recognizing and fulfilling their needs in order to ensure engaged and satisfied employees. In Pivara Skopje, I enjoy my work and I don’t feel as number – I feel as part of a business family. I don’t feel that the Company is task orientated – it is a goal oriented one! There is clear positive drive for developing a sense of achievement, that little impulse that we are all expecting – to be valued. There is clear positive drive for nurturing the talent and reward commitment.

Recruitment policies and procedures. Before I was approached to consider a job in Pivara Skopje, I worked at a similar job position in another respectful company in Macedonia. What excited me and made my decision fairly easy, was not the size or the glory of the company. It was the crystal clear view of the people here where a woman’s place in today’s world is. The decision to hire or not in Pivara Skopje is simply based on the level of knowledge, experience if required, abilities, aptitude, attitude and commitment. And nothing other than that. The word fair comes to me again.

Employees’ Empowerment. If you are lucky enough to work for a company like Pivara Skopje, the job does not feel as just a job anymore. To me, my job feels as an affair full of challenges, hurdles to overcome, decisions to be made – out of which some being very tough, where your commitment is given, not requested, where the positive drive and ideas are encouraged and not suppressed. That is my job.

What to say at the end… People join and leave companies? Wrong! People join and leave people! To me, Pivara Skopje is led by a very experienced and relatively young management team that has clear goals and strategy for the market success and the overall community engagement, but above all, a team that is deeply involved in developing the sense of employees’ fairness in all aspects in our company.

I am a woman, working for a great company, and I feel valued.
