ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN

For each life, there is a personal, but also collective responsibility. This is not just a phrase that you read somewhere or you hear it from someone, but a message that we all should consider with great deal of responsibility and seriousness. As a Commercial Capability Manager, I am personally applying this message. Primarily, I do my best to behave appropriately and contribute to the creation of responsible behavior patterns in public traffic, both during working hours and after. And I also use all available occasions to transfer such good practices to my coworkers and my friends and family.
Here, in Pivara Skopje, we dedicate exceptional deal of attention to collective and social responsibility and we strive towards turning them into a culture of behavior among our employees, and we want positively impact all others. For that purpose, Pivara Skopje developed the “Health and Safety” program, aimed at building habits and practices in the area of safety and health. Within the frame of this program, since 2011, Pivara Skopje has been implementing numerous activities through promotional events taking place all year round.
One of such activities aims at raising employees’ awareness regarding their personal and collective responsibility as active participants in public traffic. The job of the Sales Academy, as a part of Pivara Skopje’s Commercial Sector, is to educate newly hired employees since day one on how to behave and implement the rules and best practices for responsible behaviors while driving company’s vehicles. At the same time, the Academy, in cooperation with other sectors, is constantly working on raising the awareness on driving safe, by organizing road shows throughout Macedonia, with the purpose of providing useful information, exchanging valuable experiences and presenting videos recorded on this topic. Pivara Skopje dispossess of a fairly large fleer and many company’s vehicles. That only increases our responsibility to promote safe driving among our employees.
This year, in September, as a part of the HEINEKEN international family, we have marked the Global Beer Responsible Day. Pivara Skopje implemented an internal campaign aimed at promoting safe driving among employees, realizing communication platform specially intended for the sales team.
More precisely, in cooperation with Pivara Skopje’s Public Affairs and Communications Department, the Sales Academy organized road shows all around our distribution centers in order to convey the main message that we all have someone we love, someone who loves us endlessly, someone who waits for us to come home, and that is why we need to understand that we do not only bear the responsibility for our own lives, but we should also prevent hurting the ones we love the most by acting recklessly. Together with all sales employees, we have prepared collages consisting of photos of the people we love the most and we have placed them in our premises, so we can be reminded every single day to both act and drive responsibly.
During the course of the campaign, we have shared important information on how to minimize risks faced by our employees whenever they drive our company’s or their own vehicles. Special emphasis was put on the basic driving rules, such as: mandatory seat belt usage, strictly prohibited consummation of alcohol and usage of mobile phones, driving speed adjustment, obeying traffic signs, and reporting traffic accidents and breakdowns. All Pivara Skopje’s vehicles are equipped with a state-of-the-art technology helping prevent traffic accidents through timely warning in case of potential imminent dangers. At the end of the day, what matters the most is the responsible behavior of our employees.
The primary objective of this campaign and of many others of its kind is safe driving with zero traffic accidents. To me, as to all, human life has no price. Therefore, here in Pivara Skopje, we dedicate great deal of attention to all topics related to health and safety. We remain open for all companies, organizations and institutions which would like to share with them our best practices in this area.
