ROSA, THE FIRST ECO-FRIENDLY BOTTLE OF UP TO 30% PLANT ORIGIN

Rosa launched the first eco-friendly bottle which is made up to 30% plant-based material on Macedonian, Serbian, Montenegrin, Bosnian and Herzegovinian markets, making it the first-ever fully recyclable bottle. Since 2013, the entire Rosa product portfolio is produced applying the PlantBottle™ technology.
Rosa was the first bottled water brand on the domestic market and in Europe to use eco-friendly bottles, additionally positioning Rosa on the leading position when it comes to bottled water brands using advanced technology to promote sustainable packaging.
This innovation was preceded by another project aimed at reducing the weight of Rosa bottles for 30% and reducing the quantity of plastic needed to produce a single bottle, thus reducing their carbon footprint. Moreover, due to the lower carbon dioxide emissions and the lower usage of fossil fuels during production, Rosa has managed to contribute significantly to the protection of the environment. The new eco-friendly bottles contain ethanol derived from Brazilian sugarcane, which actually is the first generation biofuel used worldwide because of its favourable environmental impact. As always, the Coca-Cola system has once more showed that it continues investing efforts into advancing the technology which will allow to increase the quantity of recycled and renewable material used in the packaging of the products it produces.
At the same time, we have encouraged many activates aimed at raising consumer awareness regarding the importance of recycling and the benefits of sustainable packaging when it comes to the environment.
The recognition for the invested efforts aimed at responsible exploitation of natural resources and using sustainable packaging materials came just recently in the form of Golden EWS Certificate awarded to Rosa for its environmental standards by the European Agency for the Management and Protection of Water (European Water Stewardship).
