NEW YEAR, NEW DECISIONS – WHAT KIND OF A SPORT ACTIVITY TO CHOOSE?

Sport and active life style are important during the whole year. Although aware of the benefits, starting an active life is the hardest decision. Than another decision follows. With what kind of sport to choose? Which sport? When? To make it easier to decide, read the following few factors that influence the choice of sports and sports activities which will help you choose what suits you best.
- Weight level:
Referring to your past experience or simply knowing yourself, you need to decide what level of difficulty you are prepared to experience while practicing a sport activity. Whether it will be like the famous “No pain – No gain”, or you want to be comfortable while exercising, without any particular difficulties is a decision that will narrow down the choice of activities and bring you closer to the specific one. Although is very relative what is difficult and what is easy, for those who would like to move their borders we would recommend, wrestling, weightlifting, CrossFit or incentive training, while for those who would like to go easier we recommend jogging, zumba or swimming.
- Time required:
What you really need to think about is how much time you want or you are able to spend on sports and sport activities. It is also important what time of the day you are most comfortable to “move”. Some people work best when they start their day with sport activity, while others do not function before 9 am. Some people want to be active before going to bed, while others want to spend time at rest after work. You should also consider adjusting the sports plan according to the conditions offered by the season, if your commitment to sports and active life is long-term, bearing in mind more options. Those who are ready to spend more time on sports activities, it is best to focus on a sport that can train for a longer period of time in continuity and evidently progress in it. For those in the race with time we suggest finding a fitness center that is flexible in terms of the desired specific time or to reorient to exercises something that can be done at home.
- Exposure to many types of sports:
The interest in a given sport activity is the best indicator of what activity you most enjoy. Exposure to many different sports activities is what gives you a broad idea of what you like the most. Add to that also the positive and negative experiences that you had in different activities and by that you will reduce to a few things that are of interest to you and which were pleasing to you. Start jogging and if you realize that it’s not for you than switch to classic aerobics. If it’s too monotonous for you, experiment with pole fitness. If you may find it to be too big bite for you, try a “lighter” sport in a group so that will not be monotonous or even overwhelming. We salute for all unsuccessful attempts to run on the Quay and for all paid-in monthly subscriptions and we support you not to give up. Any new attempt can be more successful than the previous one!
- Team or individual sport:
Also, you need to ask yourself what kind of player you are. Your behavior in life can greatly assist you in the choice of sports or sports activity. If you are a team player and want to see something progressing with a team effort, then team sports will be your stronger side. First try the basic – football, handball or basketball. On the other hand, if you want to feel independent and responsible for your results, not depending on other people, then it’s best to refer to individual sports such as tennis, CrossFit, gymnastics or swimming.
- Adjustment to body type:
Your body type can no doubt tell you which sport is suitable for you. So for example, the lower people can choose football, while the higher, basketball. If you notice that you have extraordinary strength in your legs, you may need to consider cycling. If you often notice that you are flexible, then you can think of some category of athletics. The point is that you need to know your own body to know what is preferable to you.
No matter what kind of an activity you decide – it will be the right decision! Even if you are not the “best” in what you do, you still make a great step towards a healthy and active life. Whether you will find yourself in handball or football, whether you decide on Jiu-jitsu or karate, whether it will be aerobics or climbing, you can always run to the quay, park or the nearest mountain, to use the bicycle as an alternative transportation or scroll to the active zones of Coca-Cola and stir up.
