“UP THE LADDER OF SUCCESS” WITH DJ ALEKSANDAR GALOSKI: “IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME, EFFORT AND REJECTIONS BEFORE I STARTED GETTING THE RECOGNITION AND SUCCESS I HAVE TODAY”
I am currently focused on developing new music projects and collaborating with other artists and creators. From time to time, I also work on educational projects, teaching young artists and training them in various aspects of the music industry. What motivates me the most is the desire for creation and expression through music. The satisfaction is immense when I create something unique and see how my art affects people, says Galoski.
Aleksandar Galoski is our successful DJ and producer. World performances at the most popular electronic music festivals are part of his rich portfolio. A few years ago, he entered history as the first Macedonian artist to be ranked on the elite and global 1001 tracklist, reaching the 69th place among the best producers and most supported electronic music artists in the world. He is one of the few Balkan artists with millions of listens on the music streaming platform “Spotify”, and the list of his performances around the world is long: Norway, Poland, Holland, Thailand, Ukraine, Albania, Bulgaria, Singapore…
We talked to Alexander about his beginnings, student days and the ladders of his world success.
“Make That Body Move” – a key moment in my career
He studied at the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies/Computer Sciences within the University of Southeast European in Tetovo. He decided on these studies because of his curiosity towards informatics, and his best friend had a positive influence on him.
– My portfolio is mostly from the music industry, as a music producer and electronic music artist. From the very beginning I released music for top record labels such as Universal Music, Armada Music and Spinnin’ Records. I have worked as a music producer and on audio recordings for companies such as MTV, Jaguar, Coca-Cola and other major global brands. I am currently the manager of a publishing house, and also the owner of a marketing agency for music releases – says Galoski.
He says that his career towards this artistic segment is a result of his love for electronic music and curiosity about how it is created.
– I started by releasing music under the “Armada Music” label of Armin van Buuren, who is one of the world’s biggest DJs. In the beginning, I was exclusively engaged in music production for myself and for clients from whom I learned a lot. “Make That Body Move” was a turning point in my career. It was the project that opened the doors to the world of electronic music for me in a way that no other project did. After its release, major record companies began actively looking for me and showing interest in my music, which was a wonderful recognition of my art and work – he says.
Self-motivation and self-support are key
When asked what played a key role in his career, i.e. what he attributes his own success to, he said:
– It’s all a combination of different factors. I believe that my passion and love for music were key to my development and success. Without that true passion I wouldn’t have the motivation to dedicate myself to my art and work hard every day. Education also played a significant role. By learning new skills and techniques I was able to expand and develop my musical ability and creativity. Of course, persistence and ambition were key to my success. It took a lot of time, effort and rejections before I started getting the accolades and successes I have today. There were many obstacles along the way, but my determination and belief in myself kept me focused on my vision. Finally, tireless work and the ability to adapt, learn from mistakes, and the desire to constantly improve and upgrade are an integral part of my successful career – underlines DJ Galoski.
Experience allowed him to understand his passions and abilities, so now he wants to use those insights to create even more meaningful projects and engage in new challenges.
– I am currently focused on developing new musical projects and collaborating with other artists and creators. From time to time I also work on educational projects, teaching young artists and training them in various aspects of the music industry. What motivates me the most is the desire for creation and expression through music. The satisfaction is immense when I create something unique and see how my art affects people. I find inspiration in different sources, in other artists, even outside of the music industry, as well as in everyday life. I was lucky to work with colleagues who supported me and taught me many important lessons. But ultimately, self-motivation and self-support are key. You have to believe in yourself and in what you do and be ready to work hard, learn and constantly develop – emphasizes Alexander.
Expanding career into new territories
It is difficult for Alexander to single out one performance as the most successful, but he still mentions the performance in Tokyo as the most impressive.
– The energy and enthusiasm of the audience was incredible; the communication between me and the fans was at a level I have not experienced before. It was a magical experience, I felt that all my efforts and hard work paid off at that moment. When it comes to a segment of which I am particularly proud of, it is the development and success of my own musical projects. Creating original music and seeing how it resonates with people is something that fills me with pride and satisfaction. Being able to share my art and see how it affects others is the greatest reward for me – Galovski pointed out.
His ambitions for the future include his further development as an artist and expansion of his career into new territories.
– I want to provide new opportunities for performances and collaborations around the world; I always try to bring my artistic expression to a higher level. One of the “challenges” that await me is to adapt to the dynamic changes in the music industry and to maintain a connection with the audience in the digital age. In terms of creative development, I’d like to explore different musical genres and experiment with different sounds and techniques. I believe that continuous learning and development is key for any artist and I’m excited for everything the future holds – concluded Galoski.
