WE MARK THE INTERNATIONAL WATER DAY

It is scientifically proven that water, which constitutes more than 70% of the human body, is essential for maintaining all vital systems and organs. According to experts, the most efficient way of supplementing the necessary level of liquids is the combination of clean, tested water and various beverages, which results in optimal hydration of the organism. Health hazards from dehydration are devastating for the physical and psychological development of humans are enormous; therefore, experts advise everyday consumption of enough amount of tested water and other beverages.
Regular hydration has many benefits for the human body. When a person feels thirsty, the body has lost over 1% of the total amount of water and the weight which a person loses directly after intense training or running is weight from the water, not from fat.
It is usually said that an adult need from 2 to 2.5 liters of water daily which can be a combination of water, water from other drinks that most often are consisted of more than 90% water or water introduced through diet. Drinking water regulates high holestorol in the blood, cleans the kidneys, purifier the skin….
Today we are used to have the water in a pure form, ready to use. Water is our source of life and is essential for all of us. But clean water is in a growing danger of extinction. Therefore, it is extremely important to preserve water and natural water resources through saving water in the homes and work environment, investment in treatment plants, which would reduce the impact on the water in the industries in which water is essential for the production.
Back in 2011, Pivara Skopje opened a plant for bio water treatment, the first and only of its kind in the country, investing almost 3 million euros own funds. For 6 years, the station contributes to the promotion of the ecosystem, but also enables efficient saving of water and energy.
The plant’s unique feature is identified in the manner of its operation, as well as the effects it produces. It treats water from the manufacturing process with biological means only, which represents a high-tech innovation. Another significant feature is the fact that this state-of-the-art technology enables treatment of water from the manufacturing process, which can later be re-used as industrial water, while gas emissions released during water treatment will be used for energy generation.
By this and a series of other projects that the company implement in the field of environmental protection as a whole, Pivara Skopje confirms its strategy for social responsibility and sustainable development.
Three years in a row, Pivara Skopje, together with the other members of the Coca-Cola HBC Group, is ranked first in the world according to the achieved results and efforts for sustanability and environmental protection. In the prestigious global ranking prepared by The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices – DJSI, last year, Coca-Cola HBC Group won 90 points, 3 more than the previous year and 40 points more than the average in the global beverage industry.
Thus, Pivara Skopje and the other member companies of Coca-Cola HBC, for a third consecutive year confirm the status of global leaders according to the results of sustainability efforts, which so far no other company in the global beverage industry has managed to achieve.
