“WHEN I WAS A STUDENT” ZHARKO DIMOVSKI: I TOLD MY YOUNGER COLLEAGUES: “DO NOT DREAM LIFE, BUT LIVE THE DREAM”

Turn on the TV and you’ll see him to run the show. Turn on the radio and you will probably hear him sing. Go to the theater and you will see him on stage, acting. It is about Zarko Dimoski, who is a graduate actor, employed in the “Comedy Theater”, but with his multiple talent is present in a number of other artistic fields.

Acting, apart from being his profession, is also his first and greatest love. Ever since he was a child, he wanted to travel through time, to live in different periods and to associate with historical characters, so he realized that acting would allow him to do that.

In the section “When I was a student”, which we create in cooperation with fakulteti.mk, we returned his memories to the faculty lectures, socializing, challenges.

First actor in his family

Zharko, born in Prilep, says that everyone in his family is talented in music, but he is the first actor and the first to do art professionally. He changed three primary schools, but he has always been an excellent student. He completed his secondary education at the high school “Mirce Acev” in Prilep.

– I studied primary education in three schools, and I finished it in “Kocho Racin” in Prilep. I also finished high school in my hometown. I was a excellent student and I always look forward to my high school days with joy. Ever since I was little, I wanted to invent a time machine, I wanted to travel through time to live in different periods. I wanted to defend the honor of a princess, to drink coffee with Tesla, to tell jokes to the Anunnaki in ancient Egypt, to see the spaceships that built the pyramids. I wanted to record movie with Humphrey Bogart, sing with Sinatra etc.

I realized that all this I can be if I have, possess and master the magic of acting. And so it happened – says Zharko.

My whole studies were a great friendship tour

For a professional study of acting, Zharko decided to enroll at ESRA University in Skopje. He says that he studied at one of the most entertaining faculties, where the study of acting through practical methods and the friendship he had with his colleagues forever leave his student days engraved in his memory.

– I am a graduate actor of ESRA in Skopje. I was a scholarship student, I had a high average, over 9, and I tried to keep it because my studies depended on the scholarship. But, in general, and as a primary, high school and student, I tried to deserve my high average because knowledge is power, right. My faculty offered a variety of games all the time, so my favorite subject was acting. I studied at one of the funniest colleges, where friendship was inevitable. The whole studies were a great gathering, at the faculty itself, in the dormitory …

He graduated from the university in three years, he did not fail the exam

Describing his faculty and the entire acting profession as “one big game”, Zharko considers it a privilege to be an acting student because you have the honor of living someone else’s life. He graduated from college in three years, without failing a single exam. Due to the fact that he enjoyed studying, he had no difficulty with the subjects.

– At the end of the first year of my studies, I started playing in professional plays in Skopje theaters. I worked with various directors from the region, who were also excellent professors. Definitely, the man who left the biggest impression on me and who stood up for all the students was and remains Professor Robert Veljanovski.

– My faculty, and my whole profession is a big game. My exams were in principle practice and we worked in groups all the time, we rarely had theoretical classes. I studied for three years and, fortunately without failing a single exam. Each semester was a study of a different acting method, where we prepared scenes from different periods and different authors. The exams resulted in the fact that at the end of each semester we had an exam performance that we presented to the audience – adds Zharko.

The student canteen, vouchers and parties were an amazing story

Sports and music from his student days until today, are inseparable parts of his everyday life. Zharko spent the first years of his studies in a dormitory, before finding his own apartment. In the message to the current students, he points out one, according to him, the most important thing, and that is not to dream life, but to live the dream.

– The dormitory, the canteen, the voucher shop, and the voucher and shopping phenomenon itself, as well as the home parties, are a beautiful story that must be experienced. Given that I was a student less than ten years ago and talking to today’s students, I can say that not much has changed. When we talk about the style of dress then, for me clothes have always been a way to express myself without speaking, which means that depending on the mood, my appearance was different. Sport has always been and remains my hobby, and music and poetry have been an inseparable part of me. I managed to find time for everything and apply it during the day. I will tell my younger colleagues not to dream life, but to live the dream. To take all the risks because without risk, there is no reward. With this philosophy I passed my studies, and believe me, I stick to them even today – Zharko concludes.
