It is that sweet smell of barley and hop that gets into you the first time you enter Pivara Skopje and makes you feel good. As you are walking into the emotions evoked by the smell, you start to feel proud. Of course then, the first thing that comes to your mind is – SKOPSKO.

The magic starts with the sound of bottles clinking and the sight of orange crates.

And it is a magic indeed.

That is what happens when consumers taste cold SKOPSKO poured into a glass and start enjoying the steady foam and the specific bitter taste. Then, they indulge in pure enjoyment that builds the sense of belonging and it is in that particular moment they start feeling proud. Proud of being Macedonian. Starting from the vision of two Czechs had when starting up the first brewery in this region, for 90 years the brand has been part of people’s lives and part of the history. When SKOPSKO was promoted as the “BEST OF MACEDONIA” the brand celebrated the colors of the country in the first integrated marketing campaigns ever executed in our country. In the 1990s, the years of the beginnings of our country’s independence, SKOPSKO sent bold message that “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE”. In 2000, SKOPSKO gathered celebrities who concluded “SAKAM SKOPSKO”. By then, everybody in Macedonia knew that when you want a beer you think of SKOPSKO, because it is “OUR BEST”. When one drinks SKOPSKO, they don’t just refresh themselves, but they feel the “TASTE OF MACEDONIA” and that is why “THERE IS ONLY ONE SKOPSKO”. Today, the brand wants to invite people to join the bright side of life and celebrate the small authentic moments of bonding by simple emotion and celebration of US – “SKOPSKO FOR US”.

From pushing the boundaries where one always giggles just from the memory of the famous SKOPSKO calendars, to being one of the most socially responsible brands in the country, SKOPSKO is not just pulsing with the rhythm of the country, but it is a good example that you can be local with worldly style.

Once a Serbian designer told me that SKOPSKO’s designs, especially the labels, were taught in the classes he was taking at the Faculty of Design in Belgrade. And then it clicked to me that the power of SKOPSKO is in its authentic voice and optimistic energy. Every label of SKOPSKO is a memory of a generation and legacy to all of us.

However, it is not the years that are making this brand special, as there are many brands worldwide that are much older than SKOPSKO. It is the very close connection the brand and the consumers have built over time. Authentic, genuine connection.

All of this, along with the fact that SKOPSKO has one of the leading brand equity, sets the bar higher for all of us to constantly innovate and excite. Since the magic starts from the love that people are putting in producing this “Taste with character” and continues with all of us being proud brand ambassadors.

From SKOPSKO Silver moon, to the launch of the first Radler and first dark beer in Macedonia, we have demonstrated our commitment to moving forward and giving different flavors to moments. Sometimes, we even do things only for pure pleasure, just like our cherry beer.

Who knows, maybe a SKOPSKO Chilly beer, twist or special calendar edition… Many cool things lie ahead of us, led by the drive to excite, to provoke and to innovate. SKOPSKO will continue to be exciting, but more importantly, it will always stay authentic.

This is a brand Macedonians have cherished for generations, this is the country’s brand icon and that is why we are more than an ordinary brand.
