




THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF THE QUALITY CONTROL TEAM IS THE PARTICIPATION IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PRODUCTS, WHICH ALWAYS STRIVE TO BE IN LINE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONSUMERS





Cooperation with colleagues, mutual respect and teamwork are crucial in the process of achieving great successes, “says Dejan Angelovski, who in the past 14 years after changing a series of positions within the Quality Control Department in Pivara Skopje, is currently positioned as a Quality Control Manager. He says that it is important to produce drinks in line with consumer demand, whose quality , whose quality will be due to the fact that they would always have the same characteristics. The greatest achievement for Dejan is the Recognition of the high quality products of Pivara Skopje and maximally uses all possibilities for learning and upgrading a professional plan. Dejan prefers to spend that little part of the free time available to him with his wife and three wonderful sons.
- When and how did you join the team of Pivara Skopje? Tell us more about your career beginnings…
In 2003, immediately after completing lectures at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Institute of Chemistry, I started working in the chemical laboratory of Pivara Skopje as a seasonal worker. Since December 2004, I am a regular employee in Pivara Skopje as a chemical analyst. Over the years, I have progressed to various positions within the Quality Control Department. In 2007, I worked as an engineer in the chemical laboratory, from 2014 as a Quality Control Supervisor – beer production, and I am temporarily at the position of Quality Control Manager currently.
- What does your job position in Pivara Skopje refers to?
The Quality Control Manager in cooperation with all sectors of the company is responsible for ensuring a quality product for consumers. This, in fact, implies end2end quality control – from raw materials used, through production processes, to a product on the shelf.
- How do you determine what is best for the quality of the product? Are you guided by certain criteria?
We always strive to produce drinks according to the requirements of the consumers. From this aspect, by quality, we mean the production of products that will always have the same characteristics. Pivara Skopje, as part of two major corporations for production of drinks, Heineken and Coca Cola HBC, always uses the strict criteria of corporations, product quality monitoring, and the criteria are respected in designing new products.
- What challenges and responsibilities аre you facing during the laboratory work?
In Quality Control we face different quality challenges on a daily basis. What is a special challenge and satisfaction is the participation in the process of developing new products, where through control, as well as expertise, we contribute to the production of really high quality products.
- What is necessary for a beer to be quality and how does the whole process of beer control looks like?
The beer profile should match the needs and desires of consumers. Different group of consumers prefer different characteristics of beer (bitterness, color, alcohol, carbonation, extract, flavor …). The Quality Control team through its activities ensures that products are always of constant quality. The process of control begins with the selection of raw materials that will be used for beer production. The best quality raw materials are always selected. Furthermore, at every stage of the production process (digestion, fermentation, drying, filtering, filling) numerous chemical and microbiological analyzes are being made on a daily basis to ensure a quality product. Quality control of the product does not end here. We continue by monitoring the conditions in which the product is stored in the Distribution Centers throughout Macedonia, monitoring the age of products.
- How much did Pivara Skopje help you achieve your professional goals and allow you to upgrade in the area in which you work?
Every new day spent in this company is a new experience and learning for me. Pivara Skopje is part of two major corporations Coca-Cola and Heineken, and as an employee of such a company, I use all the opportunities for learning and upgrading on a professional plan.
- What values and skills do you use as a person and a professional in order to be successful in your work?
Constantly improving knowledge and skills, persistence in work and communication are only a small part of the things that build success …
- What is your greatest achievement in your work?
The greatest achievement for me is the Recognition for the High Quality products of Pivara Skopje, its constant improvement and the design (production) of new drinks that satisfy the needs of consumers.
- How much do you work with colleagues from other teams and how much team work is needed for this kind of job like yours?

- Macedonian Coca-Cola was twice selected for the best in the world, according to the Coca – Cola Quality Index. In relation to which the Macedonian Coke is different from the rest in other countries? What is the reason for this success?
Thanks to the commitment of all employees in the production of soft drinks, especially the employees of the Quality Control Department of soft drinks and the strict quality control of products, we managed to win twice the prestigious award for the best Coca Cola in the world. Coca-Cola has the same recognizable taste all over the world, but what distinguishes Coca-Cola produced in Pivara Skopje is the high quality of the product and the excellent quality control (carbonation, taste, packaging …).
- How do you spend your free time? Do you have some kind of a hobby?
Аs happily married and the father of three wonderful boys, I try to spend the little part of the day that I have left for free activities with them.
