THE 10TH COCA-COLA ACTIVE ZONE WAS OPENED IN SKOPJE
The second cycle of the major Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company Project has been finalized
Many citizens, renowned athletes, sports enthusiasts, representatives of Pivara Skopje and the Mayor of the City of Skopje have all attended the opening of the 10th Coca-Cola Active Zone donated by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company to the City of Skopje, which took place earlier today (10.11.2017).
The Coca-Cola Active Zones Project has been implemented in number of municipalities throughout the country, in close cooperation with the local authorities. The Project focuses on installing outdoor fitness zones equipped with state-of-the-art professional equipment which is available 24/7 to all citizens, completely free of charge.
This Project is part of the global platform designed by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company to promote physical, sporting and recreational activities and investing in the community, as a basis for creating active lifestyle habits and for motivating citizens to exercise or to do sports on regular basis.
“The opening of the 10th Active Zone in Skopje actually finalizes the second year of the implementation of this significant project. Looking back at these two years, we have donated 10 Active Zones, and I can now safely say that all of our fellow citizens using the equipment for sports or recreation, are an undisputable proof that our Coca-Cola Active Zones are a successful project that has managed to achieve its mission of encouraging sporting lifestyle, even in those who have never done any type of sports. Therefore, Pivara Skopje, in close cooperation with The Coca-Cola Company, as socially responsible companies, will continue on the course towards implementing projects that promote active lifestyle, because we believe that regular physical activity and sports are indispensable when it comes to building sustainable future and creating community breathing and living sports” – declared Mr. Lambro Patche, Public Affairs and Communications Manager at Pivara Skopje.
“I am truly honored that the City of Skopje has been chosen to be part, once again, of this Project, which has made it possible for us, along with Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company, to motivate our citizens to do sports regularly and to employ active lifestyles, even more so because this Zone is completely free of charge and available to everybody who wishes to use it. Our objective is to have clean, modern and safe city and citizens who take care of themselves and of their environment, as well. Therefore, the Coca-Cola Active Zone is of major importance to the City of Skopje and I would like to make an appeal to all of my fellow citizens to look after the Zone” – said Mr. Petre Shilegov, Mayor of the City of Skopje.
This Active Zone is actually a second donation to Skopje. The first one was opened last year in the Municipality of Gazi Baba, which, at the same time, marked the start of this long-term Project implemented by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company. Also the Municipalities of Ohrid, Strumica, Tetovo, Prilep, Shtip, Kumanovo, Gostivar and Radovish all got their own Coca-Cola Active Zones. Pivara Skopje announced that the Project is planned to continue in the next year, in order to meet the ever-growing demands of citizens to open new Active Zones in their municipalities, until the entire territory is covered.
With the aim of promoting sporting lifestyle, investing and caring for communities and the environment, Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company as part of this platform have realized many other successful projects, such as the Coca-Cola Football Cup and the free bicycle parking racks that Pivara Skopje has donated to the City of Skopje, in order to promote culture of using bicycles and to promote bicycles as being alternative and eco-friendly means of transport overall.
