PIVARA SKOPJE CONTINUES EDUCATION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS ON SAFE AND HEALTHY SCHOOL DAYS
For the fourth consecutive year, Pivara Skopje, in cooperation with the municipalities implements the educational project on topics related to health and safety intended for fourth grade pupils. This year the education includes more than 8,000 pupils in 91 primary schools in 11 municipalities and cities across the country. With this, the total number of pupils who have the opportunity to get educated on safe and healthy school days will exceed 17,000 in these four years.
The project is implemented through interactive and graphic presentations tailored to the pupils’ age through which they, in the presence of their teachers, get tips on how to properly maintain body posture while sitting in the school bench and when working on a computer, how to properly carry the school backpack, how to prevent injuries caused by slipping, tripping and falling, and how to act in the event of fire in the school.
Presentations are delivered on a voluntary basis by over 70 employees in Pivara Skopje who are regularly trained in the field of occupational safety and health, thereby acquiring the appropriate knowledge that they can convey to the pupils through this project.
“In the past three years the pupils were reacting highly positively as they show enthusiasm while accepting advices we give them through these presentations. It further encouraged us to keep the project running as it aims to encourage and develop awareness among the youngest of the importance of rules that provide safe and healthy school days,” said Lambro Patche – Public Affairs and Communications Manager in Pivara Skopje, recalling that this year the company, together with the Embassy of the Netherlands and the companies Pakomak and Zero Waste, launched a project to educate pupils from first to fifth grade on the method and the benefits of recycling and proper waste treatment. “This way, through a blend of education and entertainment, we try to create healthy habits among the youngest and correct attitude towards environmental protection which, according to best practices, are best acquired at an early age. We are happy to have this opportunity through which we can contribute to creating healthy generations and sustainable future for all,” Patche emphasized.
