TWO NEW “ROSA BREASTFEEDING SCHOOLS” OPENED IN THE GENERAL HOSPITALS IN STRUGA AND KAVADARCI – A DONATION FROM PIVARA SKOPJE, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH
Two new “Rosa Breastfeeding Schools” were opened today within the general hospitals in Struga and Kavadarci, thanks to a donation from “Pivara Skopje” and “Coca-Cola” through the “Rosa” brand, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The aim of these schools is to support young parents in navigating the challenges of their new life roles. In the newly equipped modern breastfeeding schools in Struga and Kavadarci, all new and expecting mothers will receive free professional assistance, advice, and appropriate education in the breastfeeding process and parenting in general.
This is part of the long-term initiative of “Rosa” to support new parents, that has been implemented since 2018 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. As part of this initiative, nine parenting schools and eight breastfeeding schools have been established in several cities across the country.
“Pivara Skopje,” together with the Ministry of Health, will continue this initiative in 2025 with the aim of advancing, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding.
“We are extremely proud that this project has been a success since its inception, with the opening of the first school in 2018, and continues to thrive to this day. Every opening of a new “Rosa Breastfeeding School” brings us immense joy as a company, as it reflects our dedicated care and support for the proper nurturing of the youngest and providing essential education for new parents. This is also deeply meaningful to me personally as a parent who understands the importance of support during such a sensitive period,” said Dushan Mitrev, General Manager of “Pivara Skopje”. According to him, the initiative aims to “build a healthy foundation for future generations and serves as an example of how collective dedication can foster a culture of support and solidarity in our society.”
The Minister of Health, Dr. Arben Taravari, emphasized that such initiatives are highly significant, highlighting the excellent collaboration with “Pivara Skopje”.
“In the gynecology and obstetrics departments of the General Hospitals in Struga and Kavadarci, in collaboration with “Pivara Skopje,” dedicated spaces have been equipped where new mothers and expectant parents can receive information about the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, with the support of medical professionals. On this occasion, I want to highlight the excellent collaboration with “Pivara Skopje,” a socially responsible company, whose support has allowed us, as part of the second phase of this project, to promote two new breastfeeding schools this year in the hospitals of Struga and Kavadarci. These schools provide young parents with the opportunity to consult with a professional team—including a pediatrician, an obstetrician-gynecologist, and a visiting nurse—on the advantages of exclusive breastfeeding, as well as other current issues related to the postpartum period,” stated the Minister of Health, Dr. Arben Taravari.
To implement this project and equip and renovate the spaces, “Pivara Skopje” allocates 1 denar from every bottle of “Rosa” sold in 1.5L and 0.5L sizes.
The “Rosa Breastfeeding Schools” are a key part of the commitment of “Pivara Skopje” to supporting the community. These schools are an integral component of the broader strategy of “Pivara Skopje” for active participation in improving public health and well-being. By emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding and parenting, the project aims to create a long-term positive impact on the community.
