SKOPSKO WITH A “DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE” CAMPAIGN

Anticipating the realization of the fiftieth jubilee wedding in the immigrant workers’ village Galichnik, Pivara Skopje AD and SKOPSKO have reconfirmed their partnership with this traditional event, which this year is crowned with providing the traditional wedding costumes for the bride and the groom.

This weekend, on 14th and 15th July, for the fiftieth time the authentic wedding ceremony in Galichnik will take place, a cultural, staged event, unique in our region and beyond. Apart from the financial support for organizing this event, as well as providing beverages for the guests, Pivara Skopje AD and SKOPSKO provided new wedding costumes to be worn by the bride Danica Torteska and the groom Trajce Lozanoski.

The special gift are the traditional wedding costumes, typical for this area, which along with the wedding customs and rituals represent a central part of the rich cultural treasure, thus containing the influences from the history of the inhabitants of the area of Galichnik. Handmade by the nifty hands of the women from the Mijak region, particularly characteristic and rich with sterling silver and silver artistic details, is the traditional wedding costume of the bride, which is consisted of 46 parts and weighs around 25 kilos

The traditional cultural event in the Galichnik village, for half a century now attracts thousands of visitors from Macedonia and abroad, who are repetedly thrilled every year from the unique wedding ceremonies followed by traditional dances and songs, witnesses of the authentic Macedonian spirit, enchanting with their beauty and spiritual value.
