DONATION OF SKOPSKO FOR YOUNG MUSIC TALENTS
Pivara Skopje and SKOPSKO opened the first music festival evening of this year’s Strumica Open Festival with a donation for procurement of musical instruments for the elementary music school in this city, which since 1951 is a “nursery” of talents and musical virtuosos well-known in the country and beyond.
As part of the celebration of the 90 years long tradition of the beer with the longest tradition in the country – SKOPSKO, which coincides with the birthday of Pivara Skopje, is the donation of funds for procurement of musical instruments for the elementary music school “Boro Dzoni” in Strumica, realized within the third edition of the cultural and entertainment event Strumica Open Festival.
“Just like music, SKOPSKO undoubtedly belongs to the group of unique features and values that have become a trademark for Macedonia and its citizens. Thus, our decision to support the creation of future musical virtuosos by donating funds for new instruments to one of the most famous music schools in the country, is quite logical. I sincerely hope that this donation will allow young people who attend the music school in Strumica, to awaken and perfect their talent, and to even reach stellar heights in art,” said Katerina Hadzi-Angeleska – Nachevska, PR Specialist in Pivara Skopje, while handing over the donation, which took place on the main festival stage.
The new instruments, which will be purchased thanks to SKOPSKO and Pivara Skopje, will contribute towards the creation of some new musical masters of the highest level.
“For over six decades our school is working on fostering love of music in children and nurturing their musical talent. The school has provided great musicians that are pride of the school, our city and all of Macedonia. That is why, this donation is significant not only for the students but for the wider community,” said Klara Patarova, Principal of the elementary music school “Boro Dzoni” in Strumica, thanking SKOPSKO and Pivara Skopje for the beautiful gesture, which according to her will contribute towards further success of the school and its students.
The donation of SKOPSKO and Pivara Skopje for the music school has ideally fitted in the character of the festival in Strumica, within which, as one of the 28 cultural events, the Guitar Summer School was held, organized by the professors of “Boro Dzoni” school.
In many ways Strumica Open Festival is a unique event. The programme within the 11 festival days is full of cultural events, starting with an art colony, poetry evenings, aphorisms, film and theater, book promotions, exhibitions, folk costumes exhibit, waiters’ race… The last three festival evenings are centered on music contents suited for all tastes, which combined with great beer and delicious food contribute towards excellent entertainment.
