COCA-COLA AND PIVARA SKOPJE ARE DONATING ACTIVE ZONES AVAILABLE FOR ALL CITIZENS
The Municipality of Gazi Baba has today hosted the launch of the first Coca-Cola Active Zone in Macedonia. On the terrain right next to the Avtokomanda sports facility, Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company together with The Municipality of Gazi Baba have inaugurated the first Coca-Cola active zone in Skopje. The opening of the first “Coca-Cola Active Zone” marks the beginning of the large longterm Coca-Cola Active Zones project, which is to be realized in many municipalities throughout the country.
The Active Zones are a donation of The Coca-Cola company and Pivara Skopje, providing recreational and sports active zones in the open air, equipped with the most modern fitness equipment, available for usage by all citizens.
The primary goal of the project is to encourage people to develop healthy living habits by engaging in physical, sports and recreational activities. This project is part of the global platform of The Coca-Cola Company that aims to promote healthy and active living and represents a perfect combination of sports, entertainment and spending time together.
“Over the past few years, Pivara Skopje together with Coca-Cola has carried out several successful projects promoting sports and regular physical activity. Aiming to continue our mission, in cooperation with The Coca-Cola Company and with the support of the local self-government and the Open Fun Football Schools organization, we embark on the Coca-Cola Active Zones project. After several months of preparation, today we are launching the first active zone in the Municipality of Gazi Baba in Skopje. The Coca-Cola Active Zones project is a project that we are undertaking with the support of 5 municipalities and one that, in the end, will result with 5 fully equipped Active Zones. But we will not stop here. The Active Zones will turn into tradition and spread throughout the country in the next few years. Creating healthy life style habbits among all generations is key to every society and we, in Pivara Skopje, will remain devoted to our mission to promote physically active and healthy life.” announced Mr. Jovan Radosavljevic, General Manager of Pivara Skopje AD.
The Active Zones consist of 5 professional fitness machines and goals for small football and are installed on appropriate outdoor locations that can be accessed by all citizens. In addition to the Active Zone in Gazi Baba, 4 more Active Zones are planned for this summer, in Strumica, Prilep, Tetovo and Ohrid.
“The collaboration between our Municipality and Pivara Skopje has a long year tradition, so this partnership really came naturally. Actually that’s why right here is the very start of this project, a project important to all of us, because it’s for all and accessible to all citizens and because it’s promoting active life style“, announced Mr. Toni Trajkovski, Mayor of The Municipality of Gazi Baba.
The Active Zones will be open 24/7 and available for usage by all categories of citizens who have aspiration for recreation and sports, free of charge.
