ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM THE US EMBASSY FOR THE LEADERSHIP ROLE THAT PIVARA SKOPJE HAS IN SUSTAINABILITY

In the eve of World Earth Day, April 22, yesterday Pivara Skopje was visited by representatives of the US Embassy Dianna Palequin, Acting Chief of the Political and Economic Office and Arben Gega, economic /commercial specialist in order to acknowledge Pivara Skopje for its leadership role in the field of sustainable development.

During the visit, despite he was not able to physically attend, the General Manager of Pivara Skopje, Goran Sladic, addressed them on-line, mentioning the achievements so far and the strong commitments that Pivara Skopje has in sustainable development:

  • 7 times winners in Dow Jones sustainability index among beverages companies as a part of Coca Cola HBC family.
  • Among first companies with A – Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control permit by Ministry of Environment which was renewed last year in presence of the USA Ambassador.
  • Founder & biggest investor in PAKOMAK – leading waste collection company in the country.
  • Being part of expanding members of Pakomak, who supported the innovation in partnership with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and students, by making 3 pilot waste reverse wending machines already placed to our customers, in Kumanovo, Lipkovo & Kriva Palanka
  • The first company with its own Waste Water Treatment Plant

The representatives of the US Embassy visited the Waste Water treatment plant, and also visited AFB Production and were interested in the formula for success as twice being recognized as the best Coca-Cola in the world. The visit continued at the Educational Center, where they were informed about the progress and challenges of the free of charge training program for youth, “Skills for Success” during Covid-19.

The US Embassy provides continues support to Pivara Skopje, including through their partnership and participation in the volunteering actions “Are you recycling” that we had in the past few years, and the recent mentorship of US Ambassador Kate Mary Burns to Youth Empowered.

The visit was organized in accordance with the working Covid-19 protocols in Pivara Skopje.
