PIVARA SKOPJE HOST OF THE TWELFTH OKTOBERFEST
The twelfth Oktoberfest, organized by the Macedonian – German Economic Association, was opened yesterday in a traditional way as it opens at the Oktoberfest in Munich. The first barrel with beer was hammered with a wooden hammer, and the celebration began with the saying “O’zapft is” – “The tap is open”
The Director of the Delegation of the German Economy in the Republic of Macedonia, Patrick Martens, the Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Macedonia, Peter Schaller, the General Manager of Pivara Skopje, Vladimir Kosijer and the General Manager of the Prilepska pivarnica, Saso Samardzioski traditionally opened the twelfth Oktoberfest.
“It’s a great honor to open the 12th edition of Oktoberfest, the most popular beer festival in the world. Pivara Skopje for the second time hosts this prestigious event, organized by the Delegation of the German Economy. They say that the only thing necessary for good friendship is good beer. Dear friends, partners and beer lovers, today we are here to unite and celebrate the most magnificent drink – the beer. We, in Macedonia, know what a good beer is. We are proud of our wide portfolio of beer brands. All this is due to the great tradition, knowledge, the best beer masters and the most advanced technology for beer production. Pivara Skopje for the second time hosted this prestigious event attended by guests from the business sector, ambassadors, representatives from the media and culture.
The Oktoberfest celebration in Skopje has grown into a tradition as a significant event for the City of Skopje, important for the cooperation both economically and culturally between the two countries Macedonia and Germany. Oktoberfest has been celebrated for 200 years in Munich and this event is attended by 6 million visitors.
