PIVARA SKOPJE WILL BE HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE TO GET EMPLOYED OR TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS

Pivara Skopje, the Employment Agency and Motiva, the company for business education, signed an agreement for realization of free training for acquiring knowledge and skills that will help the young unemployed people to easier overcome the employment barriers or to encourage them to start their own business. This year the training should be completed by 100 young unemployed people and the plan is in the next five years their number to exceed 5400 persons.
“Through the project ‘Skills for Success’ we want to motivate and encourage young people to take the future in their hands by enabling them to acquire skills that will help them find employment more easily or start their own business. We are proud that in this way we contribute to increase employment and for further development of the entrepreneurial culture in the country,” said Jovan Radosavljevic, General Manager of Pivara Skopje.
Pivara Skopje is covering the overall costs for the realization of the trainings, thus enabling them to be completely free for the participants. The task of the partner in this project – the Employment Agency is to assist in the process of selecting the candidates who need this type of training the most, with preference given to the young people from the socially vulnerable categories.
“This project perfectly fits in the measures and efforts of the state competent institutions and the Government to further reduce unemployment, especially among young people. I believe that the current results of this Educational Center and the well-designed training program are sufficient guarantee that the desired effects will be achieved. Therefore, we as an institution, believe in this project and we support it,” said the Director of the Employment Agency of the City of Skopje, Slobodanka Aleksovska.
This training is in fact an extension of the long-term program for youth development which is being realized in the Educational Centre of Pivara Skopje since 1997.
“Through the trainings young people develop their communication skills, they acquire knowledge in the area of finance and business, knowledge for creating and implementing development plans and projects, knowledge for effective negotiation and sale, as well as knowledge for an efficient organization, time management and establishing connections with relevant mentors. In addition to the managers from Pivara Skopje, other leading representatives of the business, experts from academia, public institutions, as well as renowned international organizations are involved as lecturers in the trainings,” explains Zoran Kostovski from Motiva, the company for business education which is partner of the Educational Center of Pivara Skopje since the very beginning.
In the past 19 years, the program of the Educational Center of Pivara Skopje was attended by more than 3800 young people, many of whom were unemployed or at the beginning of their career. This program helped more that 80% of the participants to find a job, and encouraged about 4% of them to start their own business. For its evident results and its social contribution, the Educational Centre of Pivara Skopje received the National Award for Socially Responsible Practices for 2011, in the category Investing in the Community.
