COCA-COLA CUP FOR PROMOTING SPORT SPIRIT AND ACTIVE LIFESTYLE AMONG YOUTH

In the spirit of the upcoming European Football Championship 2012, Pivara Skopje AD, Coca-Cola  and “Open Fun Football Schools” will start with the realization of an integral project called “Coca-Cola Cup”. This project comprises of a football tournament, supplemented with relevant sports activities for delivering unique experience for all involved parties. The purpose of these activities is to promote youth engagement that emphasizes healthy lifestyle and physical activity, giving special attention to companionship, entertainment and bonding with the families.

The main stars of the Coca-Cola Cup will be boys and girls at age of 13 to 16 from primary and secondary schools in 8 municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia. The tournament starts on 19th of May, with matches on various football pitches in the municipalities and ends with semifinal matches and the final one which will take place at the stadium of the football club “Metalurg” in Skopje, the weekend of June 9 and 10, when actually this year’s European Football Championship officially starts.
“Sport teaches us that only through hard work, commitment and team work as well as mutual respect one can achieve success in all aspects of life, on the playground, in sports arena but also within our families, in the companies, in the community we belong to. Thus, for us in Pivara Skopje this is a strong argument to invest and partner in this project called the Coca-Cola Cup. The people in Pivara Skopje remain committed to the investment in community projects in order to reinforce impact to a sustainable future” stated the general manager of Pivara Skopje AD, Jaak Mikkel, at the press event organized especially for the Coca-Cola Cup.

Pivara Skopje AD and Coca-Cola partner with the international organization “Open Fun Football Schools”, which has extraordinary expertise and experience in organizing of such type of activities aimed at the promotion of the sport culture among the young population.
“We all wish Macedonia and its athletes to participate in some great tournament, such as the forthcoming European Football Championship. The way to achieve this success starts with the implementation of this kind of projects aimed at developing the love for football and sport in general and the benefits it brings to the life of youngsters and all of us. The value of this project is even greater as it is the result of the partnership with the  civil society, educational institutions, municipalities and the business community” said the local representative of the international organization “Open Fun Football Schools” Ceno Aleksandrovski.
In addition to football matches, various sports games will be organized within the Coca-Cola Cup that will animate young players and their friends, their families and their friends, which contributes to the development of active and healthy lifestyle, especially among youth, friendship and entertainment and respect for family, values to which Coca-Cola has been committed and nurtures those worldwide for decades.

Therefore, our decision was logical; to join the implementation of this Coca-Cola Cup along with our partners and to transfer the energy and magic that the Coca-Cola brand and football carry together to the youth in Macedonia,” said The Coca-Cola Market Manager for Serbia and Macedonia, Dimitar Andonov.
Coca-Cola is the official partner of the European Football Championship 2012 which takes place in Poland and Ukraine and it continuously supports sports and the Olympic spirit throughout time.
