CCHBC AND PIVARA SKOPJE GOT HIGHEST RATINGS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 9-TH YEAR IN A ROW
We are very pleased to announce that for the 9th year in a row, CCHBC has received the highest ratings (AAA) in the field of sustainable development from the MSCI ESG Ratings. In addition, the Group was included in the FTSE4Good index where it was rated with the highest scores in the fields of corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, climate change, water security and human rights.
These achievements show that the sustainable development strategy and the progress we are making are bringing us closer to the goal of Zero CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 2040 and confirm our position as industry leaders.
At the local level, in the alcohol-free beverages segment, the investment in the new non-alcoholic beverage PET line contributed to the reduction of water and energy consumption, meeting all safety and health standards and introducing preforms with the lowest weight in their class. The latest results for the month of July show that the ratio of water consumption has improved by 26%, and for energy – by 38% compared to last year.
In the beer segment, we have achieved excellent results by reducing water consumption by 10.3% compared to last year, and energy consumption has decreased by 16.75%. Our thorough approach to thermal energy consumption and the optimization of heating and cooling systems contributed to cost reduction, but also increased the efficient use of energy by 7.4% compared to last year.
From the general activities that we do on the subject of sustainability and helping the community, we highlight that since the beginning of the year, we had a total of 505 participants in the Youth Empowered program, and since last year, a total of 68 participants have been employed with the help of the acquired skills from the program.
A step forward in our ambitious goals and commitments from the “World without waste” platform and the initiative for Zero CO2 emissions in the atmosphere was the introduction of tethered caps that will be applied to all our alcohol-free brands by the end of this year.
Our biggest beer brand, SKOPSKO, launched the campaign “Our pride, our responsibility” which aims to contribute to clean national landmarks. We started with activities in the Ohrid region, and many more activities are planned for cleaning the Ohrid Lake and raising awareness among the general public for the preservation of these landmarks.
Finally, we express our gratitude to all #Pivarci volunteers who dedicated their time and participated in volunteer activities, the biggest of which this year was the Generalka Weekend, where 30 Pivarci participated and contributed to the collection of 252 tons of waste across 52 municipalities in the country.
We continue to build a sustainable future together!
