

PIVARA SKOPJE HOST OF THE ELEVENTH OCTOBERFEST


The 11th edition of Oktoberfest, organized by the Macedonian-German Economic Association, was opened in a traditional way in which the Oktoberfest is open in Munich. The first barrel with beer was hammered with a wooden hammer, and the celebration began with the saying “O’zapft is” – “The tap is open”
Yesterday evening, the Director of the Delegation of the German Economy in the Republic of Macedonia, Patrick Martens, the Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Macedonia, Marko Aquatici and the General Manager of Pivara Skopje, Jovan Radosavljevic traditionally opened the eleventh Oktoberfest organized by the Macedonian-German Economic Association in Skopje .
Pivara Skopje for the first time hosted this prestigious event, which was attended by 1,700 guests from the business sector, ambassadors, representatives from the media and culture.
“Tonight we are here to celebrate the world’s most magnificent drink – beer. And there is no better reason for that from the most famous world beer festival – Oktoberfest. I am honored that Pivara Skopje, as a member of the Macedonian-German Economic Association, is hosting the celebration of this year’s Oktoberfest and that we have the opportunity to participate in its activities, including the organization of this event, which is primarily intended for the expansion and development of beer culture. We, in Macedonia, know what good beer is. We also know how to make good beers. We have a long tradition, great knowledge, best beer masters and most advanced technology for beer production. We are proud of our wide portfolio of beer brands. All this is determined by our permanent mission – to enable all beer lovers to feel the magic of this wonderful and unique drink, “said Jovan Radosavljevic at the opening of the event.
Marco Aquatiqi, the Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Macedonia noted that Oktoberfest has been celebrating for 200 years in Munich and this event is attended by 6 million visitors, expressing the pleasure that the Oktoberfest celebration in Skopje has grown into a tradition as a significant event for the City of Skopje, important for cooperation both economically and culturally between the two countries, Macedonia and Germany.
