DAYLONG EVENT DEDICATED TO THE WORLD DAY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK
For the upcoming World Day for Health and Safety at Work – April 28, a daylong event was organized in Pivara Skopje AD when all employees in the company had the opportunity to test their knowledge of this area by participating in an educational quiz, demonstration exercises and specialized training.
Occupational health and safety management is one of the areas where Pivara Skopje AD is a pioneer in Macedonia and an example of excellent practice in the beverage industry in the country.
This is confirmed by the fact that Pivara Skopje AD ended last year without a single injury at work, which is an exceptional achievement in the domestic industry and is the result of great commitment and investments in complying with the highest international standards in this domain. The common goal and strive of all employees is continuous maintenance of the trend of days without injuries at work.
“I am particularly glad that I became apart of a company that has so far invested a lot of energy, time and resources, to provide healthy and safe environment for all its employees, as well as for those in its surroundings. Seeing the amount of attention paid to the issue of occupational health and safety, I must say that I am not surprised that last year Pivara Skopje reached the goal of 365 days without injury in the workplace.This achievement will be an incentive for all of us in Pivara Skopje AD to continue in the same manner and to ensure our future, of each of us and all of us together through continuous and intensive work in upgrading our knowledge and skills in this area and through permanent respect for the rules,” said among other things the new General Manager of Pivara Skopje AD, Jaak Mikkel, addressing all employees attending this year’s event marking April 28 – World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Thematically, this year’s event on occupational health and safety in Pivara Skopje AD was dedicated to the observance of the rules for safe driving and to the elimination of near misses that could jeopardize the health and safety of employees, while the six golden rules of occupational health and safety that are in force in Pivara Skopje AD, including Coca-Cola and Heineken systems were reaffirmed.
Pivara Skopje AD is among the first companies in Macedonia to be certified according to the leading international standard for occupational health and safety management OHSAS 18001, which is otherwise not mandatory under our legislation.
