“ROSA SCHOOL FOR PARENTS” WAS OPENED IN STRUMICA

Following the announcement last week of the continuation of the project “Rosa Parenting Schools”, a new school for parents, donated by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company through Rosa, officially was opened today at PHI Strumica.

This “Rosa” school is in fact the fourth one opened since the beginning of the project in 2018, and by the end of the year two more will be opened at the General Hospital in Ohrid and the General Hospital in Kumanovo.

At today’s opening, the Minister of Health, Doc. Dr. Venko Filipce, the Director of PHI Strumica, Ljubica Miteva and the Brand Manager for non-alcoholic beverages in Pivara Skopje, Katerina Hadzi-Angeleska-Nacevska, addressed the media and the team of doctors who will work within the school.

“I am truly glad that this project continued to live, and even more that the ‘Rosa’ schools are widely accepted throughout the country. On behalf of Pivara Skopje, I sincerely thank the Ministry of Health for their wholehearted support of our mission of doing well for the whole community, which is also evidenced by the Memorandum of Cooperation we signed last week. We have two more schools to open this year, and with the Memorandum we are committed to additional three by the end of 2020 in order to provide as many families as possible with the benefits of these free workshops. In the meantime, I invite all pregnant women from Strumica and their family members to apply for the training and to attend the ‘Rosa’ school in their town“, said Katerina Hadzi-Angeleska-Nacevska, Brand Manager for non-alcoholic beverages in Pivara Skopje.

The goal of the Rosa schools is to educate new parents on how to deal with the challenges, but also to support them in the first days of parenthood, and the trainings cover many useful topics such as healthy pregnancy care, psychophysical preparation for childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, parenting etc. The Rosa schools will be staffed by a trained and qualified team of specialist gynecologists, obstetricians, pediatricians and nurses who will try to answer any questions and dilemmas that new parents might have.

“As a Ministry of Health we have truly recognized the need for this kind of group health-education workshops in the Health Center in Strumica and on this occasion I would like to welcome the decision of Pivara Skopje to continue the project in new cities as well. We provide expert help and expert staff of specialist doctors who will work in these schools and I am convinced that Strumica residents will have a real benefit in all matters related to parenting. Parenting can be learned. Let’s provide responsible and successful parenting to all future parents”, said the Minister of Health, Doc. Dr. Venko Filipce.

“It is a great honor to have the hospital in Strumica placed on the ‘Rosa Parenting Schools’ map and in that regard, I would like to express my gratitude to Pivara Skopje and the Ministry of Health who remembered us. This school will have a professional team of doctors from this health institution and I sincerely believe that young families and all future parents from Strumica will apply for the workshops and will enjoy the benefits they offer, in order to be truly educated about parenting and be prepared to go step further in their parental roles“, the Director of PHI Strumica, Ljubica Miteva.

The funds for the Rosa schools have been raised through a campaign in which 1 denar of every sold 1.5 l Rosa water bottle was allocated for this purpose.
