THE INFECTIOUS DISEASES CLINIC RECEIVED A DONATION FROM THE RED CROSS PROVIDED BY THE FOUNDATION OF THE COCA-COLA COMPANY AND PIVARA SKOPJE

The Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje received the necessary materials provided as a donation by the Coca-Cola Foundation and Pivara Skopje, which were realized through the Red Cross. The handover of this donation is part of the activities that this year, under the motto “We are all red”, marks May 8 – World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. This day is Coca-Cola’s birthday as well.
“Today’s donation is just another positive example of solidarity, social responsibility and encouragement for mutual assistance and support in a situation with pandemic. We are especially grateful to the Coca-Cola Foundation and Pivara Skopje for the financial resources they have provided for the realization of this activity of the Red Cross, “said Suzana Tuneva Paunovska, Secretary of the Red Cross of the City of Skopje.
The donated materials for the Infectious Diseases Clinic are part of the list of priority needs of the Ministry of Health in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As an integral part of this community we, at Pivara Skopje, are proud to have the opportunity to help when needed. It is part of our company culture, of our values and of our socially responsible action, which is focused on the needs and interests of the community, the people and the whole country. The support of the Coca-Cola HBC and HEINEKEN groups, where our company belongs, is also of great importance. On this occasion, I would like to thank all the employees and volunteers of the Red Cross for their great dedication and work, and at the same time I would like to express my special gratitude to the entire medical staff who take care of the health of patients with COVID-19.”, said Lambro Patche, Public Relations and Communications Manager at Pivara Skopje.
Many thanks for the donation and the overall support that the Clinic for Infectious Diseases receives in dealing with the health challenges of the pandemic, said the Organizational director of the clinic, Dr. Mirjana Pehchevska Pop-Iliev.
“For us, this donation is a gesture of a helping hand, but also an incentive for even more successful work and to bravely and dedicatedly endure this whole difficult period. The Infectious Diseases Clinic has always been at the first front line of crisis situations. And in this situation, as always before, we all give our best in fighting and dealing with it. These times of crisis give us the opportunity to further help each other and remind us that the most important thing is to be humane”, said Dr. Pehchevska Pop-Iliev.
Otherwise, the donation for the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje is only a part of the Red Cross activities aimed for responding to the pandemic of Covid-19 which, among other things, include providing emergency social and health services, psycho-social support, logistical assistance, medical care and information for the population to cope with the Coronavirus. Within that framework, 37 mobile Red Cross volunteer teams are active, purchasing the necessary medicines, food products and personal hygiene items and delivering them to the homes of the elderly, frail people living alone, the chronically ill, and families with people with special needs, single parents and other vulnerable categories of citizens throughout the country. The funds for the realization of these activities were provided by the Foundation of the Coca-Cola Company and Pivara Skopje.
