MACEDONIA SENDS MESSAGE FOR HAPPINESS TO THE WORLD

The big sun-shaped heart that shines the entire world dominates the specially designed Coca-Cola bottle, which Expedition 206 members received as symbol of happiness from the people in this country.

Republic of Macedonia and Skopje are the 115th destination visited by Coca-Cola’s Happiness Ambassadors within their global adventure “Expedition 206“, which was named according to the total number of countries to be visited and corresponds to the number of places where the all-times most popular drink is sold.

The international team “Coca-Cola’s Happiness Ambassadors”, comprised of Toni Martin – US teacher at a kindergarten in Germany, and students Kelly Ferris from Belgium and Antonio Santiago from Mexico, have a unique mission – to discover what makes people happy in various corners of the world and share the results of this quest with other people around the globe.

After 400,000 km and 180 days of non-stop travelling, the Happiness Ambassadors arrived in the capital of the Republic of Macedonia from their previous destination – Slovenia, and had the opportunity to take-in the unique moments of happiness offered by Skopje nightlife, while in daytime they strolled along “Macedonia“ Street, where they were able to get first-hand information on what makes the people of this city and this country happy, given that they are known for their hospitality and humanity.

In a symbolic manner, the Macedonian message for happiness as shown on the specially designed Coca-Cola bottle with big heart-shaped sun shining the world that represents the great heart of Macedonian citizens was presented to the Happiness Ambassadors in front of the monument dedicated to Mother Theresa from Skopje, known in the world for her humanity.

Coca-Cola is one of the most distinct words on the planet. Also, for more than 120 years people associate this brand with simple, but most important things in life for all – happiness. Thus, the goal of this globe-trotting venture named “Expedition 206“is to unite people from the world around the topic of happiness, in particular by transferring individual messages and stories of joy and optimism from various places on the planet. “Personally, I am happy that Skopje and Macedonia are part of this globe-wide journey because I know that people from this beautiful big-hearted country have much to share with the world in terms of happiness”, said Gjorgi Hristov, representative of Pivara Skopje AD, on the occasion of presenting the Happiness Ambassadors with the specially designed Coca-Cola bottle that incorporates the Macedonian message for happiness.

The message, formulated as a welcome greeting for all benevolent world-travellers, also reads:“…You are in the country of eternal sunshine, the country of happy people. You are in the city of solidarity and humanity…”

“I’m impressed with the good spirit and energy of people we met here and their messages and feelings for everything that makes them happier. As different as their stories may be, they all originate from their love for their country that they wish to share with the entire world. I am happy to have the opportunity to visit Macedonia and this beautiful city and to tell the world about my wonderful experiences and friendships with the people from this big-hearted country”, said Toni Martin, member of the Coca-Cola’s Happiness Ambassadors team.

After the 365 days-long globe-trotting adventure of Coca-Cola’s Happiness Ambassadors is complete, the bottle with message for happiness from Macedonia will become part of the unique collection of 206 bottles collected throughout the world and exhibited at “The World of Coca–Cola” Museum set up at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta, USA.
