KUMANOVO HAS GOT A NEW SPORT AND RECREATIONAL ZONE DONATED BY PIVARA SKOPJE AND THE COCA-COLA COMPANY
In Kumanovo, the 7th Coca-Cola Active Zone was officially opened, as a continuation of the long-term project implemented by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle and community wellbeing.
The Kumanovo Zone is in fact the second out of the five zones that are being donated this year throughout several cities in Macedonia. It has been donated at the request of the citizens of Kumanovo and it is a result of several months of preparations.
“It is a great pleasure for us to see that all the Coca-Cola Active Zones we have donated so far are regularly used by people of all generations who visit them to practice active lifestyle, thus becoming a role model to all of us striving towards building a sustainable future. As we have promised, the project now continues in the Municipality of Kumanovo and it will focus on opening 3 new Coca-Cola Active Zones in 2017. We will not stop until we make it possible for our fellow citizens and motivate them to start doing sports as often as possible, to get some recreation and to practice a healthy lifestyle, and until the whole country is covered by Coca-Cola Active Zones. I am truly convinced that the habitants of Kumanovo will use the Zone as often as they can and will take care of it, because this area really deserves this” – said Mr. Lambro Patche, Public Affairs And Communications Manager at Pivara Skopje.
“It is a really great pleasure for me that today, the Municipality of Kumanovo is a proud host of Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company, especially because our Municipality is becoming part of the big family of cities where this project has been implemented. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the both companies, on my personal behalf, but also on behalf of all of my fellow citizens, for this lovely space, which as of today, will surely become a place where the people of Kumanovo, both fitness enthusiasts and professionals, will get to exercise for free, as the exercise equipment is nothing short of a professional one. I would like to invite my fellow citizens to make this spot a zone for fun and socializing of all generations”, declared the Mayor of the Municipality of Kumanovo, Mr. Zoran Damjanovski.
The Coca-Cola Active Zones project was initiated back in 2012 and is part of the global platform of both Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company to promote active lifestyle. This platform, among other activities, also included donation of free bicycle parking racks, which reflect the strategic commitment of these two companies to continue investing in the community, simultaneously encouraging the use of bicycles and promoting bicycles as a an alternative mean of transport.
Therefore, Mr. Zoran Ristovski from the Velo-M Bicycle Club, was invited to attend the event in the capacity of a honorary guest, and he used this opportunity to emphasize how important regular physical activity is.
“It is really an honor for me to be invited at this beautiful event, especially because, as a professional athlete, it is of essential importance for me to have an appropriately equipment training spot which would be available at any time. For the first time, now, I have the possibility to get ready for my professional completions outdoors and to use professional equipment, which is undoubtedly a very important advantage. I would like to recommend to all of my fellow citizens not to miss on this opportunity to practice sports and to recreate regularly, because now, they have excellent conditions to do so”, said Mr. Ristovski.
This Coca-Cola Active Zone, as well as all of the rest, offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment, composed of 5 pieces of professional fitness equipment and a power tower, which will be available to all citizens, 24/7.
