GOSTIVAR GOT NEW COCA-COLA ACTIVE ZONE
Yesterday, Gostivar joined the large project implemented by Coca-Cola and Pivara Skopje called Coca-Cola Active Zones. Yesterday afternoon, the new Coca-Cola Active Zone in Gostivar was opened in presence of many citizens, professional and amateur athletes, Pivara Skopje representatives, as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar.
Gostivar is the eight municipality in a row to be included in this project, meaning that the citizens of this municipality joined the citizens of Gazi Baba in Skopje, Ohrid, Strumica, Prilep, Tetovo, Kumanovo and Shtip. The objective of The Coca-Cola Company and Pivara Skopje’s donation is, above all, to promote active lifestyle among all citizens and to contribute to the overall wellbeing of the entire community.
“It’s an honor and a pleasure that today in Gostivar, we are continuing with our mission for wellbeing of all citizens, promoting active lifestyle and developing the sports culture. Our goal is through “The Coca-Cola Active Zone” to encourage all citizens of Gostivar to become physically active, irrespective of their age, gender and preferences when it comes to sports. It is a place where anyone can do sports, train or just do some recreational activities. We placed the zone in an accessible location where in the next period, in cooperation with professional sportsmen engaged by us, we will organize a series of sporting events with the intention of “Coca-Cola Active Zone” in Gostivar to become a place for inclusion of all citizens who can smoothly realize their potential, to have fun and socialize.
Our guiding force and motive to continue with this project is that the “Coca-Cola Active zones” are accepted and visited by all the citizens from the very start and the hundreds of requests that we get every day, coming from citizens from all around the country asking for an active zone in their municipality. That is why we will not stop here. Along with Coca-Cola and local authorities, we plan to continue opening new active zones until we cover the entire territory of Macedonia” – stated Mr. Lambro Patche, PR and Communications Manager at Pivara Skopje.
The realization of the Coca-Cola Active Zones project is supported by local authorities, and each of them houses 6 pieces of professional fitness equipment and a power tower placed at convenient locations available free of charge to all citizens, 24/7.
“This sporting and recreation nook is more than welcome in the city of Gostivar and I am immensely grateful to Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company for including our municipality, as I believe that a project of this kind will have long-term effect on the lifestyle of all citizens. On one hand, Gostivar’s inhabitants now have the chance to do sports and recreational activities completely free of charge; but on the other, those who are more motivated can now do sports professionally, and I am truly convinced that this fitness equipment will be an additional incentive to practice physical activity more regularly. I would like to send a message to all of my fellow citizens not to destroy it and to take good care of it”- said Mr. Nevzat Bejta, Mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar.
The Coca-Cola Active Zones project is encompassing the entire territory of Macedonia and it is part of the global platform set in place by Pivara Skopje and The Coca-Cola Company aimed at encouraging active lifestyle and investing in the community. So far, this platform has served as a basis for successful implementation of a number of projects, such as the Coca-Cola Cup, the free bicycle parking racks etc.
