About 6,000 people in the country depend entirely or partially on the generated personal income across the entire value chain of Pivara Skopje, which annually provides EUR 13.7 million as personal income for its employees, as well as for the employees in the companies with which it cooperates, which is equal to the average monthly salary of 25,000 people in the country. The company’s total annual share of the country’s budget exceeds EUR 21 million, representing 12% of the overall profit tax in the country for 2016. To this contribution made by Pivara Skopje also the one of the partner – The Coca-Cola Company is added that only last year invested over EUR 1.4 milion in the Macedonian economy.

These are some of the indicators for the share of Pivara Skopje in the development of the Macedonian economy, which in the form of conclusions were set out in the first Socio-Economic Impact Study of the company that was presented in the Economic Chamber of Macedonia to representatives of the business sector, institutions at the state and local level, to the academic community, the diplomatic corps in the country and civil society organizations. The purpose of this Study, developed according to the scientific methodology of the renowned international consulting company Deloitte Sustainability Consulting, is to determine and demonstrate to the general public the influence and significance that Pivara Skopje has in the development of the domestic economy and the prosperity of the community in a transparent, independent and objective way.

The Study, which is the first of its kind in the country, also reads that each workplace in the company contributes to 3.6 additional jobs in the country. Pivara Skopje provides work for 1000 suppliers, from whom it annually procures goods and services in the amount of EUR 33.6 million. The company cooperates with over 13,000 business entities in the country, thus achieving a positive impact on the development of more than 15 vital sectors of the domestic economy, including agriculture, wholesale and retail trade, catering and tourism and others, thereby greatly affecting the revival of the overall economic activity in the country.

“The formula for such success of Pivara Skopje is not a secret. It is the result of the work and efforts of generations of dedicated employees, the quality and the integrity of our products, the overall support we receive from the two global groups we belong to, Coca-Cola HBC and Heineken, and of course the trust of our consumers to whom we are providing the favorite soft drinks and beers on the market for 93 years already,” said the General Manager of Pivara Skopje Jovan Radosavljevic, emphasizing that “the success of the company is due to the strong partnerships we are building with our associates, business partners, chambers, the state and our consumers. We will continue to invest a lot of time, energy and other resources in ensuring sustainable growth of our company, which will further contribute to the socio-economic development and prosperity of the community,” concluded Radosavljevic.

Deputy Minister of Economy Kire Naumov also spoke about the contribution that Pivara Skopje has in the development of the domestic economy, both from an expert angle and from the aspect of institutions, and assessed that “With all its business operations, Pivara Skopje stimulates activities that extend through the entire value chain by supporting many companies, which in turn employ people, have revenues and pay taxes, causing positive effects in the overall domestic economy,” Naumov said.

“In addition to the impact it has on the Macedonian economy, Pivara Skopje significantly contributes to the deepening of the cooperation within the business community, as well as with state institutions and other organizations. I consider that in the future too, Pivara Skopje, as a leader in the domestic beverage industry, will continue to provide a strong contribution to the development of the Macedonian economy, businesses and society as a whole, again and again overcoming the challenges of the times,” said the President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia Branko Azeski, emphasizing the role of Pivara in the economy and beyond.

A special segment in the Socio-Economic Impact Study of Pivara Skopje is dedicated to the implementation of a large number of significant CSR platforms and efforts for education and raising awareness on topics that are extremely important for the community’s prosperity in areas such as: health and safety, active lifestyle, moderate and responsible consumption of alcohol, strengthening the place of women in the society, providing clean environment and protecting water resources, as well as providing knowledge and skills to young people to easily overcome employment barriers or open their own businesses. All this proves that the core principle behind the operations of Pivara Skopje is the sustainable development of the community to which it belongs.
