The Coca-Cola Cup, organized by Pivara Skopje AD, Coca-Cola and the “Happy community” project realized by Open Fun Football Schools with support of the US Embassy ended with a special event, featuring the semifinals and the final match. The event that symbolically coincided with the start of the European Football Championship 2012 was preceded by tournaments which were played on football pitches in eight municipalities in our country over the past 20 days. The tournament involved more than 70 schools, activating more than 700 talnted young boys and girls that took active part.
More than 1,500 boys and girls aged 13 to 16, along with their friends and family members, participated actively in the football tournaments and other sports and entertainment activities that were part of the Coca-Cola Cup. At the Final event the boys and girls from the football teams that won the final received gold medals, however everyone who took part was declared a winner because the main goal of the Coca-Cola Cup was the promotion of active lifestyle, development of healthy sports spirit and physical activity among youth, giving special attention to companionship, entertainment and bonding with the families.
“Young people are the main driving force of any prosperous community. Through participation in the Coca-Cola Cup, these young people confirmed this the best way. They devoted a lot of energy, enthusiasm, fighting spirit, team play and fair play, but also a great desire for making friends and having fun, which makes us extremely satisfied and happy, because these are the values that we as Pivara Skopje AD continuously stand for and we want to convey them to the youth,” said the representative of Pivara Skopje AD, Maja Muratovska – Changovska.
In addition to football matches, many different sports and entertaining games were organized within the Coca-Cola Cup involving family members of the participants in the Cup and their friends, and creating a unique experience for everyone involved.
“Coca-Cola’s mission has always been connected to sharing happiness throughout the world. The goal of the Coca-Cola Cup in Macedonia was also part of this constant mission – through active life to strengthen the healthy sport spirit, friendship, socializing and the strong family values, and all of this using football as a platform that connects us all,” stated the regional manager of the Coca-Cola Company, Dimitar Andonov.
The “Open Fun Football Schools” representative in the country highlighted that without concrete support provided by the business sector, the organization of such activities would be impossible.
“Thanks to the support and commitment of Pivara Skopje AD, Coca-Cola and US Embassy in the implementation of this project, all of us together – our instructors, schools and municipalities that were involved in the Cup and of course the youth, their families and their peers – succeeded to demonstrate that sport is the fabric that can input new energy and enrich our everyday lives,” said Ceno Aleksandrovski, representative of the international organization Open Fun Football Schools in the country, which was a partner of Pivara Skopje AD in the implementation of this project.
