MAN AND MOUNTAIN TOGETHER WITH PIVARA SKOPJE AND PAKOMAK CONTINUE WITH THE BIGGEST CLEANING AND REFORESTATATION ACTION – GENERALKA WEEKEND 2023
The strategic partnership between Man and Mountain, Pivara Skopje and Pakomak supported by Sparkasse Bank, Nula Otpad, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, continue in the third environmental action in a row – GENERALKA WEEKEND. This year the action is conducted in 53 municipalities and 450 schools across the country, including more than 16.000 volunteers. In frames of GENERALKA WEEKEND 2023, from 12th till 14th of May, the waste will be collected from the locations mapped by each municipality separately.
Volunteers from Pivara Skopje, together with other partners and interested citizens, will collect waste on Friday, May 12, at a location in the surrounding of the village of Jazhince, municipality of Jegunovce, at the foot of Shar Mountain.
“For 9 months, we have continuously dedicated our time, resources and volunteer hours of Pivarci in creating a platform that will change habits by building a system for a sustainable environment and create partnerships with all those with whom we share the same values“, said Lambro Patche, Director of corporate affairs and sustainability of Pivara Skopje.
The collected waste during the action will be taken care of by the utility companies, Pakomak and Nula Otpad with appropriate selection and recycling, and Red Cross teams will be present on all locations providing safety to all volunteers.
“Let’s show conscientiousness and responsibility in our behavior towards the nature and join the Generalka Weekend – an action that shows the power of togetherness and gives us the opportunity to turn waste into our green future“, said Kaja Shukova, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning.
“The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and myself personally, refer to the GREEN TRANSITION as one of our first top 5 priorities which will turn our country into a more ecological and a greener one. For each collected waste of 10 kg, we plant a tree and create new life with diversity in flora and fauna”, said Ljupco Nikolovski, the Minister of Agriculture.
