VERIFICATION OF THE INVESTMENTS MADE IN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Pivara Skopje AD was issued A integrated environmental license
Pivara Skopje AD received an integrated environmental license issued by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, which confirms that the company applies the highest standards of environmental protection in all segments of its operations.
In order to fulfill all terms and conditions provided with the Operational plan for obtaining the license, in the past five years Pivara Skopje AD invested over 3 million euros.
“This license confirms in the best way the permanent commitment and dedication of Pivara Skopje AD to contribute to long-term sustainable development of the community through extensive and continuous investments in its development,” said the General Manager of Pivara Skopje AD Jaak Mikkel, thus emphasizing that “taking care for the environment is one of the fundamental principles that underpin the long-term business strategy of Pivara Skopje AD”.
The A-integrated environmental license is important because it guarantees that the company applies the highest standards in environmental protection stipulated by domestic legislation, starting from the selection of raw materials, through the production control, all the way to packaging and packing management.
“Taking care for the environment is more than fulfillment of legal provisions. It should be a way of everyday behavior, work and responsibility of us all. With its overall operations and investments in this area, Pivara Skopje AD demonstrates that it is a socially responsible company that understands the importance of clean environment”, stressed the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Abdulakim Ademi.
“In order to fulfill all the conditions for obtaining of this license, exstensive investments are necessary, which Pivara Skopje AD managed to realize in a short period of time filled with many challenges. This says a lot about their determination and vision for investing in the company’s development, while taking into account the interests of the society and the development of the overall domestic economy”, said the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs, Vladimir Peshevski.
With the investments made in environment protection so far, applying the experiences of Coca-Cola and Heineken in this area, Pivara Skopje AD in some segments surpassed the requirements stipulated in the domestic legislation. An illustration of the dedication of Pivara Skopje AD to investing in sustainable development is the construction of the Plant for bio treatment of water from the production process, which represents a technological innovation that was introduced in the domestic industry for the first time. With this energy efficient facility, which was put in use last year, the overall company system for integrated environment protection was completed.
Pivara Skopje AD is one of the initiators and founders of the first company for packaging waste management in the Republic of Macedonia – Pakomak.
